Doctors, nurses, and patients are getting warning about a counterfeit version of Adderall.

Listen:

The 30 milligram tablets that are being purchased on the Internet may actually contain a small amount of pain reliever, and none of the active ingredients in Adderall. Dr. Connie Jung says make sure you are careful when ordering drugs on the Internet. She suggests checking the site to see if it is U.S. based.  Also, she says if there is an offer of deep discounts and no presciption necessary, the chances are good it is as fake.

It's tough to say how many Hoosiers have ordered fake Adderall as the FDA is still trying to figure out the scope of the counterfeit drug business. Adderall, which is approved to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) and narcolepsy, is a prescription drug classified as a controlled substance.
