Researchers believe they have figured out how cancer tumors become resistant to chemotherapy. A study in the journal Nature says chemo also damages the DNA of some healthy cells, allowing cancer cells to invade vital organs and block the effectiveness of cancer drugs. Scientists say the finding could lead to the development of better chemo treatments.
A new study finds changing the type of video games and television shows your child watches can lead to a better night?s sleep. Seattle researchers found that when 3 to 5 year old children were given educational and age appropriate shows they were more likely to get a good night's rest. Previous studies have linked video game and tv violence to poor sleep in older children and teens.
And here's a sweet way to treat a child's cough. Israeli researchers tested 3-hundred kids and gave some honey just before bedtime. They found those who took the honey coughed less and slept better. Doctors believe the antioxidants in honey help fight off the cough.
